Sign the Liveable Victoria petition

BCG endorses the Liveable Victoria petition calling on all candidates for the November 2026 Victorian State election to commit to restoring democratic, transparent and accountable planning in Victoria.

Liveable Victoria is a coalition of community groups from across the state advocating for well-planned growth, genuine community consultation, strong environmental and heritage protections, appropriate infrastructure and democratic planning processes.

Petitions are an important way for communities to demonstrate the level of public concern about an issue. By signing the petition, you will help show candidates that many Victorians want planning decisions to be transparent, evidence-based and developed in genuine partnership with councils and communities.

The petition calls on election candidates to repeal the Activity Centres Program and associated planning changes, restore residents’ rights to notice, object and seek VCAT review, recommence planning in collaboration with councils and communities, deliver more public and affordable housing, and ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth.
